Boundaries

OverviewExamples of Boundaries

Boundaries help us keep what we like in and what we don’t like out. Maintaining our boundaries can be stressful if we lack the skills to set and enforce them. We’re here to help you take control of this important aspect of yourself if this has become a struggle for you.

Difficult boundaries may include:
  • Working out how to deal with someone who tries to exert control over your life (clothes you wear, who you spend time with, etc.)
  • Learning communication strategies to talk with someone who is not respecting boundaries.
  • Turning down people who regularly make requests of you that you are either not comfortable with, or don’t have the ability to grant.
  • Dealing with people who encourage you to participate in destructive behaviors.

If you feel like you relate to some or all of these symptoms, please feel free to schedule an appointment and speak to a therapist about them and how we can help.
