Education and Background
I attended Southeast Missouri State University and graduated with Bachelors of Science in Social Work. After graduating with my bachelors, I enrolled and attended the University of Missouri and graduated with my Masters of Social Work in 2015.
I always knew that I wanted to do a job serving others. Originally, I attended Southeast Missouri State University with the intention of becoming a Spanish teacher, but found my calling in social work. After finishing my undergraduate studies I worked as a caseworker in the Sikeston/Bootheel Missouri area where I developed my core value that everyone has worth and deserves a chance to improve their life.
After earning my Master’s degree, I began employment with the Missouri Department of Mental Health where I provided inpatient treatment to individuals who had committed serious crimes
After working with the state for many years I was offered an opportunity to work with individuals in many different settings both in private practice and different inpatient settings.
How I view therapy and how I like to practice
I always assume people are doing the best they can to solve their own problems. I believe that EVERYONE can be healed from their suffering no matter what it is. I practice Dialectical Behavior Therapy which teaches that we must balance acceptance of ourselves and our reality, with our push to change and improve ourselves. I enjoy helping others reach their potential because I have my heart in what I do.

Education and Background
Education and Background
I attended Southeast Missouri State University from 2008-2013. Originally pursing a BFA, after my junior course work a professor asked if I would work a summer art workshop for children. I originally agreed because of the promise of extra pay but stayed because of how much joy teaching gave me. Instead of switching degrees, I decided to do a dual degree program and graduated with a BFA in Studio Arts and a Bachelors of Science in Education.
After college I worked as a high school art teacher at Poplar Bluff High School for ten years helping students achieve their goals in many different ways. In 2024 I decided to leave teaching and help grow Insightful Behavioral Health into a resource that can help our surrounding community. Many of the goals and philosophies that we have here at Insightful Behavioral Health echo many values I developed while teaching.
